A few things to know.

Is the hair type quiz really free?

Yes. Your hair profile, explanation and starter routine are free. The optional $12 30-day plan adds a schedule, product-type checklist and a changes log. You can use your free result without upgrading.

Can I have more than one hair type?

Yes. Different parts of your head can show different patterns, and styling or treatments can change what you see. Choose “a mix” when that fits. Pattern labels are a shorthand, not a rulebook.

Can this tell me my exact hair porosity?

No. A questionnaire, photo or home float test cannot establish an exact porosity measurement. Our observation guide helps you notice useful behavior and choose small care adjustments.

Do I need to buy new products?

No. Start by making sense of what you already do. The plan focuses on product types and technique so you can check your current shelf before shopping.

Is this advice from a hair professional?

This is self-reported educational guidance, supported by published sources in our guides. It is not a stylist consultation or medical assessment. Persistent irritation, sudden shedding or scalp concerns need an appropriate professional.
